AstroQuestion is run by Yves Robert, Portugal, who is responsible for your data. Contact: yves@astroquestion.app.

Without an account

You can cast charts without giving anything. The time and place of the chart are sent to our server to calculate it, and are not kept. Your last place and your settings (light or dark, for example) stay in your browser.

With an account

We use this to run your account and the service you chose (the contract between us), and to keep the service safe (our legitimate interest): for example, sign-in attempts are recorded for two days to slow down password guessing.

We may read questions and judgements to answer you when you ask for help and to improve how the judgements are written. We never sell your data and there is no advertising on the site.

Who else handles it

All four are based in the United States, where the site and its database are also hosted. Stripe and Google transfer data from Europe under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Anthropic and Namecheap under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

One cookie, set when you sign in, keeps you signed in. It is needed for the service, so there is no cookie banner. No tracking, no analytics.

How long

Your account data stays until you delete the account. Deleting it erases at once your charts, notes, clients and settings; we keep only the count and cost of past judgements, without their text and without your name, for our accounts.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export or delete your data, object to its use, or ask us anything about it, at yves@astroquestion.app. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt).
